Bio

Assemblymember Brownley found her roots in her grandfather, a Democrat, who at the age of 23 was one of the youngest men in the 1920 Virginia Legislature. Her grandmother fostered her love of the environment. Assemblymember Brownley brings a rich understanding of educational issues gleaned during 12 years on the Santa Monica–Malibu Unified School District Board of Education, including three terms as board president.
